Today on the Bob & Tom Show...
Friday 09-05-2008 12:04pm ET

Today on the Bob and Tom Show the gang welcomed Lisa Landry, Tim Statum, Paul Mecurio, and Lewis Black.  Lisa Landry stopped by early in the program and was very funny.  She is young in age but has already become a great comedian drawing on her childhood and hometown experiences for material.  Growing up in a small Louisiana town definitely has shaped Lisa’s act and her personality.  Tim Statum, also a southerner, stopped by as well and his southern experiences also play heavily in his act.  Paul Mecurio called in from St. Paul, Minnesota to give a report on the Republican National Convention.  Paul, a contributor to the Daily Show, went to both Conventions and great stories about the protesters and atmosphere of each.  Lewis Black, one of the greatest comedians in the world right now, called in to talk up his recent endeavors.  Lewis has a new book out, Me of Little Faith, and hosts The Root of all Evil on Comedy Central.  Lewis was tremendous as usual letting the current state of the country and its politicians write and deliver his jokes for him.  Tune in tomorrow for the best of the Bob and Tom Show.

Today on the Bob and Tom Show the gang welcomed Costaki Economopoulos and Dr. Scott Farnham.  Every Thursday Cosataki does his “Economonologue” and this week’s edition was all about current events and the recent conventions.  Costaki poked fun at each political side but his left leaning ideas definitely came through.  He was also particularly harsh this week and at one point Tom said that he wouldn’t have any friends left after this week’s edition.  Costaki was great this morning but the big news was the prostate exam of one Mr. Chick McGee.  Live on the air Dr. Scott Farnham performed the examination of Chick’s prostate and needless to say it was a little unsettling.  To be honest I shifted in my chair a number of times.  However, it was all worth it as Chick received a clean bill of health and brought a little awareness to prostate cancer.  Tune in tomorrow for one of the best comedians in the world, Lewis Black.

Today on the Bob and Tom Show the gang welcomed Mike Birbiglia, Brian Regan, Bill Engvall, Tim Bedore, and Duke Tumatoe.  Mike Birbiglia stopped by and did another segment of “My Secret Public Journal.”  This week’s edition was all about his doctor patient relationship and how hard it is to get his sleep walking medicine.  He thinks his doctor suspects he’s using the drug illegally, an obvious awkward situation.  Brian Regan also joined the program to promote his new Comedy Central Special The Epitome of Hyperbole.  Besides being one of the best comedians in the country, Brian is a great friend to the Bob and Tom Show.  He has risen to comedy super-stardom over the past five years and is deserving of as many TV specials that can be handed out.  Along the same lines of comedy super-stardom, Bill Engvall called in to promote his new movie Bait Shop, which was released yesterday.  Every Wednesday Tim Bedore shares his “Vague but True” segment and today’s edition was all about his daughter’s return to school and the ensuing celebration.  Tim has the at least part of the day to unwind with his wife at work and his daughter at school and his giddiness was quit evident.  Lastly, Duke Tumatoe played the inaugural “NFL Song”, a weekly song previewing the upcoming week and reviewing the past events of the NFL season.  A source of much discussion this week was Chad Johnson legally changing his name to Ocho Cinco.  Tune in tomorrow for Costaki and the “Economologue.”
